Accessibility Statement

This statement covers wenecleaning.co.uk, the website for Wene Cleaning Services Ltd. We want this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use a keyboard only, a screen reader, or browser settings such as increased text size or reduced motion.

1. Standard we're working to

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA as our target. Wene Cleaning Services Ltd is a small private business, not a public sector body, so WCAG conformance isn't a legal requirement for us — we're doing this because it's the right standard to build to.

2. What we've actually checked

This is a self-assessment, not a third-party audit. Before launch we ran an automated scan (axe-core, covering WCAG 2.0/2.1/2.2 A and AA rules) across every page and fixed everything it found, including:

• Form labels not programmatically associated with their fields (they looked fine visually but a screen reader couldn't tell you which field was which).
• Several text/background colour combinations that didn't meet the 4.5:1 contrast minimum for small text.
• The scroll-reveal animation now respects prefers-reduced-motion — if your system is set to reduce motion, content appears without the fade/slide effect.

Automated tools catch a meaningful slice of issues but not everything — things like whether reading order genuinely makes sense, or whether link text is clear out of context, need a human pass. We haven't yet had a full manual/assistive-technology walkthrough of this site; that's the main gap between "self-assessed" and "audited" here.

3. Known limitations

• No manual screen-reader testing (e.g. NVDA/VoiceOver) has been performed yet, only automated scanning.
• The quote form's success/failure states depend on JavaScript; if a visitor's browser blocks scripts, submitting the form still works (it posts directly and lands on the confirmation page), but the inline error message on a failed send won't display — the visitor would need to try the direct email link instead.

5. Technical information

This site is built with plain, semantic HTML, CSS, and a small amount of JavaScript for navigation and form handling — no page-builder or third-party embed framework. It's designed to be responsive down to mobile widths and to work with keyboard-only navigation.
